How reassuring it is to know that we have the Counselor who convicts regarding sin, righteousness and judgment and guides us into all truth.

The faith of the disciples is a journey . Jesus teaches them and warns them everything about being a believer. The fact that they are still not ready to let go of Jesus shows that their comprehension is very less.
Jesus explains that only if he goes the advocate can come down to continue His work.
All wisdom , knowledge and understanding comes down to one point. – Believe in Jesus . He is the the author and finisher of our faith. ‘ Abide in Him’

Jesus said “I am the truth,” (14:6) and we know His Word is truth (17:17). Here in this chapter, we read about His Spirit, that is, Spirit of truth. This is in continuation to the message we heard yesterday. All these resources are available for us to live truthfully. Let’s us buckle ourselves with the belt of truth so that we can stand up against falsehood.

He has sent the holly spirit to guide us, which will teach about sin, righteousness and judgement.The Holy Spirit will guide us through the truth.

1. What is Sin?
-If we don’t believe in Him, abide in Him, Trust in Him, that is “Sin” (v9), that will lead us into all sinful things. “Anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God (like ISIS). They will do such things because they have not known Him or accepted Him” (v2-3).
2. What is Righteousness?
-Righteousness is living according to God’s word, having right standing with God. If we are righteous, only then we can go to God’s Kingdom. “Because I’m righteous, I’m going to the Father (to the Kingdom of God)” (v10).
3. What is Judgement?
-Jesus decides whether are not we enter into God’s Kingdom, that is Judgement. If we sin, we can not enter into God’s Kingdom. “…the prince of this world (Satan) is judged and condemned” (v11).

The world is proven guilty because it does not believe in him. The Holy Spirit makes Christ alive in us.
Holy spirit is our helper, comforter and guide.
Holy Spirit dwells in me so that I have joy and comfort.
The teachings what we learn from Jesus is within us and we have to stream it out the those who don’t know about it, only the Holy Spirit can guide us to achieve it.

The Holy Spirt was sent to us, so that he can help us in our lives.We should be thankful to God for giving us the Holy Spirt.

13-16, It is amazing to see the works of trinity (spirit, son, father). The Spirit will guide us, will glorify Jesus and will declare to us what Father has bestowed for us

8 …உலகத்தைக் கண்டித்து உணர்த்துவார். யோவான் 16 :8 – we shouldn’t be happy that we keep getting convicted by Holy Spirit. Jesus said, Holy Spirit will convict the world not His deciples. If we are still getting convicted, we have not come to His fold yet.

– I am not convinced about weekly பாவ அறிக்கை prayer.
– once saved is ever saved is true if we take it on the real sense. But if we take it as a rule and do as we like, we will fall in the pit.
– our life is like walking in the rope. We can’t go left or right. Walk straight looking at the goal!
