Romans 5

v. 18- against all hope, Abraham in hope believed…In the darkest of the dark places He is the only Light and Hope. —

Christ Jesus died for us while we were still weak (v. 6), while we still were sinners (v. 8), and while we were enemies (v. 10). Through His death and by His grace, we are made strong, we are saved, and we are reconciled to God.

Paul brings out the truth that we are justified by the blood of Jesus Christ. We are reconciled with God because of Christ’s death.

We were enemies of God because of our sin, but Jesus died for our sins, so we are friends of God.

3 அதுமாத்திரமல்ல, உபத்திரவம் பொறுமை பரீட்சையையும், பரீட்சை நம்பிக்கையையும, உண்டாக்குகிறதென்று நாங்கள் அறிந்து, உபத்திரவங்களிலேயும் மேன்மை பாராட்டுகிறோம். – I was sharing Jesus’s 7th word in a Church during Good Friday service. While preparing, I found a relationship between key and spirit. சாவி <=>ஆவி
7 Spirits (Rev 3:1) are the 7 keys for Kingdom of God. First key being Spiritual birth and last, defeating death. Other 5 are in parable of sower (Mark 4:14 -20). I found ‘win over tribulations’ is key #2

“It was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies the one who has faith in Jesus”. We have to be righteous and have faith in Jesus so he will justify us.
Romans 4-“For the promise that he would inherit the world did not come to Abraham or through his descendants through the law but through the righteousness of faith”.
Abraham and his descendants had faith not because of the law. We should have faith like Abraham.
Romans 5- “…God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us”.
God’s love is in our lives through the Holy Spirit. And that’s encouraging to me.

Gift of God – abundant provision of grace and righteousness.Result – eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We glory/rejoice in our sufferings (pruning) because it eventually produces hope (vv. 3, 4)

We were powerless, we were ungodly (v6), we were sinners (v8), we were God’s enemies (v10). What do we have to boast about ourselves?
-Just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people (v18). Just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners (v19). By default we are sinners. What do we have to boast about ourselves?
-One righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people (v18). Through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous (v19). His cross, His blood, His death, has given us life and made us righteous. What do we have to boast about ourselves? Let’s surrender ourselves to Him. Let’s humble ourselves to everyone.

God’s ultimate love for us is revealed/demonstrated as his only son died for us while we are ungodly, sinners (God sent his son to save the sinners)Hence,
1) We are saved from God’s wrath as we are justified by blood of Jesus.
2) We were God’s enemies but are reconciled through death of Jesus.
3) We rejoice in God through Jesus.
Through the obedience of one man (Jesus) many will be righteous.
