Joshua 10

The Israelites captured a whole chunk of land in one campaign because the Lord fought for them (v. 42) and thanks to the deceiving Gibeonites for being the cause of this campaign.

In Joshua 1, first God encouraged Joshua twice by saying “Be strong and courageous”(vv. 6, 9). Then in the same chapter, the people encouraged Joshua the same way (vv. 16-18). Here in this chapter, Joshua encouraged the people, “Do not be afraid or dismayed; be strong and courageous (v. 25). Everyone needs encouragement and affirmation. Let’s encourage and affirm people.

When the Lord fights, even the Sun and Moon stand still and watch. May the same Lord fight against our enemies, the EVIL WITHIN.

Our battle ground is within us. There are many kings rule inside. They are illegal immigrants. We need to remove them all and give the control back to Jesus.- We find some exceptions here and there. I won’t suggest to look for exceptions.
– Let us say ‘ All to Jesus I surrender’.

(v24) The army commander of Israel came forward and placed their feet on the neck of those 5 Amorites Kings. (v25) Joshua told this is what the Lord will do to all the enemies you are going to fight.
-(Romans 16:20) The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
-If God is with us He will help us crush Satan under our feet. He will give us victorious life over sin! God will be with us if we live a holy life!

If God is for us, who can stand against us? The God who fought for Israel enables us to face all that comes our way. God has promised his blessings to all those who seek him. This victory teaches me to move forward in faith.
