Judges 15

Samson believed that the victory against the Philistines was from the Lord. And, when he was thirsty he was bold enough to call on the Lord for water. God did a miracle and Samson was revived.

Samson did not have the support of the people even though God was working through him to deliver them from the Philistines. God can work in unconventional ways and if we are not “wise as serpents” we could be fighting against God.

For the second time Samson forgets his nazirite vow concerning corpses. The donkey’s jawbone was ritually unclean.

Samson was not physically strong all the time. This was evident when he asks his own people just to tie him up and not to kill him. BUT when the spirit of the Lord came upon him, the ropes go flying and he strikes down multitudes. We should ask God that His spirit be with us ALWAYS.

The three thousand men of Judah didn’t realize that Samson was the chosen one to deliver them from the philistines. They only blamed Samson for attacking their fields.Samson humbles himself before the Lord by addressing him as servant and giving the glory to God.
He cried out to the Lord when he was thirsty because he knew -the Lord who gave the victory will also fulfill his physical needs

(. v3) Samson said to them, “This time I have a right to get even with the Philistines. I will really harm them.”
-God created a situation such a way Samson can go against the Philistines and destroy them. No other Israelites are affected or killed through out Samson’s history.
-It was a direct fight between the Philistines and Samson alone. Actually, Samson was not alone, the Spirit of the Lord was “powerfully” upon him.

(v. 15) And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith: Samson was unique among the judges because he was a “one-man army” against the Philistines. Other Judges of Israel led armies against their enemies, but Samson fought alone. Samson’s great victory was because “Spirit of the Lord” was mightily upon him.”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Without him, I’m nothing. He gives me strength to faithfully face all trials in this world.😊

Samson knew very well that he was doing everything with God’s power only, that’s why when he was thirsty he called upon the Lord
