Psalm 140

Psalm 140: The righteous give thanks to the Lord and dwell in His presence (v. 13). The wicked plan evil things in their heart and stir up wars continually (v. 2). The Lord is on the righteous’ side. The Lord maintains the cause of the afflicted and will execute justice for the needy (v. 12).

சிறுமையானவனின் வழக்கையும் எளியவர்களின் நியாயத்தையும் கர்த்தர் விசாரிப்பாரென்று அறிவேன் [சங்கீதம் 140 : 12]

Psalm 140:6 I say to the Lord ‘you are my God’. Hear Lord my cry for mercy.

Anyone decent person who is living in the modern times will look at v.10 and say either (a) well this was Old Testament and tribal people believed these things
(b)this is just what David felt but God never approved such things. In other words, David is speaking of personal revenge. It is understandable but unfortunately he is misguided . A loving God cannot and will not do such things. COals? Fires 🔥? What about tender Jesus?
Let’s not forget that these words are also inspired by the Spirit. These are words of God. These ferocious parts of the Bible have a place to indicate God of the Bible is not interested terribly about modern ideas about Him.

Psalm 140 -(v6) I say to the LORD, “You are my God.” Hear, LORD, my cry for mercy.
-“You are my God.” (Period). He will definitely hear my cry for His Mercy and Grace.
