God's Grace - What it is and what is it for?
Often heard words are usually less meditated ones and "God's Grace" is one such
word. Christians, in general, take pride in defining God's Grace as
- Unconditional Love shown to unqualified persons
- God's Riches At Christ's Expense
But is that the reason and end of God's Grace; Question we need to answer is - What
can I do, if I receive God's grace. God shows His Grace to everyone; that's first
part. On receiving God's Grace what do we do? That's the second part. The Bible
focuses on this aspect or the second part of God's Grace. We need to focus on our
part i.e. the second part; whereas we focus on God's part, i.e. the first part.
While God shows his mercy unconditionally, freely to everyone, there's still our
part that needs to be done, which completes the purpose of God's grace.
What did Noah do with God's Grace? Did Noah escape the flood with God's Grace? No
- with God's Grace Noah was able to believe what's unseen and build an ark for 120
years and did everything He commanded; that's the purpose of God's Grace. While
all Israelites received God's grace, it was Joshua and Caleb who did their part
and completed God's purpose. By the Grace of God, Churches of Macedonia gave above
and beyond their power. God's grace does not stop at receiving the grace but flows
through while we exhibit that.
God's Grace enables us to go the second mile; while everyone receives God Grace,
as a child of God we need to make a difference and exhibit God's grace. Practical
Christianity that's what God's Grace is for. If we don't use God's Grace, then
we don't fulfill God's Grace.
As Christians, who use the term 'God's Grace' in every sentence, do we exhibit God's
Grace or use God's Grace a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only
Sovereign and Lord, in our actions.
